Procrastination

For as long as humans have been around, we have been struggling with delaying, avoiding, and procrastinating on issues that matter to us and it is a challenge we have all faced at one point or another. Besides we have to assume that sometimes everyone puts thing off until the last minute, nevertheless procrastinators avoid difficult tasks and look for distractions and unfortunately for others, it steals dreams and can even destroy lives.

Also Seneca, the Roman philosopher, also warned: “While we waste our time hesitating and postponing, life is slipping away” so procrastination is one of the main barriers blocking you from living life to its fullest. Recent research studies have shown that people regret more the things they haven’t done than the things they have done. When you procrastinate, you waste time that you could be investing into something meaningful. So procrastinators may say they perform better under pressure, but more often than not that's their way of justifying putting things off and according to IPL “perfectionists people are often procrastinators; due to is more acceptable to never tackle a task than to face the possibility of falling short on performance”. So is normal to listen "Well, it is not so bad. Tomorrow at first hour I put with it ". "Buff, put on that now? If I do not feel like it ... the world is not going to come down because it delayed a couple of days” so we have to assume that we like to postpone the things and never finish that but the true “it's not that we have little time, but that we lose a lot” like mentioned philosopher Greek called Seneca. But why do we procrastinate? So according to behavioral psychology has revealed a phenomenon called “time inconsistency,” that refers to the tendency of the human brain to value immediate rewards more highly than future rewards. However, while the Future Self can set goals, only the Present Self can take action so stop saying that time is missing because “only time is missing who does not know how to take advantage of it” like mentioned Jose Luis Sampedro. Nonetheless, Frank Partnoy explained “we can to surpass the procrastination with effort all depend from us” and there are a variety of strategies we can employ to stop procrastinating. Set priorities is the best way to take advantage of our time. In fact you may take a step back and think about your larger life goals so decide what goals are most important to you. Once you’re clear about your priorities and goals, you can use this as a basis for planning your time and commitments. Nevertheless most of us prefer to say “yes” than to say “no” to people we care. But prioritizing your goals means giving up some things you may want. If you think you may be missing out when you say "no,” focus instead on what you plan to accomplish with the extra time. Setting boundaries with others is an important part of managing stress. So, before you commit, think about where this task or role lies on your list of priorities and only say “yes” if it’s a high priority area. Another thing you can to do is change your environment due to according an inquiry made by RCP “the different environments have different impact on our productivity” so look at your work desk and your room. Do they make you want to work or do they make you want to snuggle and sleep? If it’s the latter, you should look into changing your workspace. Besides you can hang out with people who inspire you to take action and I’m pretty sure if you spend just 10 minutes talking to Steve Jobs or Bill Gates, you’ll be more inspired to act than if you spent the 10 minutes doing nothing. The people we are with influence our behaviors. Identify the people, friends or colleagues who trigger you – most likely the go-getters and hard workers – and hang out with them more often. Soon you will inculcate their drive and spirit too. Finally only draw a goal and just do it because get your goals depend only from you and do not let anything stand between them. Indeed everyone have time to take advantage or to lose and it is our decision that is what we do with it. But remember that once past it does not recover so start to change your life.
